What happens to my data?

In the free version everything stays with you. Your file is read right in the browser, the events are built on your device, and you download the finished .ics locally. None of it goes through our servers.

Are my events stored?

Only locally in your browser, so you can continue later. What sits there is your calendars with their names, events and blueprints, plus your view, your language and your cookie decision. None of it sits on our servers. You can delete single calendars under “My area”. Clear your browser data and everything is gone.

Question 3

Do you use cookies or tracking?

Accepted Answer

These are two different things. First your events: they never leave your device, and that needs neither a cookie nor a server. That is the core and we do not touch it. Second, the plain question of whether anyone uses the site at all. For that we ask once and measure with Google Analytics. Say no and no script is loaded, no cookie is set, and the tool still does everything. You can change that any time under “Cookies” in the footer. We also measure how far someone gets in the tool, so which step is open and whether reading a file worked. That is how we see where it gets stuck. What your events say, what your file is called and what your calendar is called are not transmitted. We could have slipped the measurement in quietly. We did not want to.

Do you detect my location or IP?

We do no location lookup ourselves. Your language comes from your browser setting or from the address, not from your location. Your IP address reaches our host on load, like on any website. If you agree to measurement, Google Analytics additionally derives a rough location from the IP. Without your consent that does not happen.

What does this tool actually do?

In short: a messy schedule file becomes a clean calendar. You drop in whatever you have, a table, a timetable, a list or something you typed yourself. We read out the events, work out what belongs together and hand you a file that every calendar understands. Along the way you tidy up without touching every row: repeats become a series, duplicates disappear, groups get colors and names, and you attach reminders and descriptions. All of it just a suggestion, the last word stays yours.

How does it work, step by step?

In six small steps, so nothing is left behind. Upload: drop a file in or type it yourself. Detect: we show the events we read, every cell stays editable. Map: which column means what, in case we got it wrong. Then Tidy and Refine: series, colors, names, then text and reminders. And finally Export: the finished file for Google, Apple or Outlook. It looks like a lot, but each step is just one move.

Which formats can I upload?

CSV, XLSX (Excel), ICS and JSON. Several files at once are fine too, we merge them. No file at hand? Type the events yourself or start with one of the examples.

Question 8

My table looks nothing like that, will it still work?

Accepted Answer

Probably yes. We know three shapes: the list (one row, one event), the grid (times on the left, weekdays on top, like a timetable) and the wide shape (one row per thing, several date columns, say kickoff, review and deadline). Which shape you have is something we work out ourselves. In the “Map” step you see our decision and can move any column if we got it wrong. Every shape has an example ready on the upload step, to try out and to download.

Can I still change things before exporting?

Everything. In the “Detect” step every cell is editable, single events can be deleted, and a slip goes back with undo. After that you assign colors, rename groups, attach reminders and build descriptions from the columns your import left over.

Question 10

I have hundreds of events, will this be a wall?

Accepted Answer

That is taken care of. Weekly repeats are recognised as a series and written as one entry with a repeat rule. Duplicate rows are merged. And if a hundred entries land on the same day, you fold them into a single event that collects the names in its description. All of these steps work on the whole pile, not on single rows.

How does the result get into my calendar?

You download an .ics file and open it. Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook and pretty much any other calendar read it directly. There is also a CSV export to keep editing.

Why can I not upload a PDF yet?

Accepted Answer

Because a PDF is not a table, it is text in a layout. That needs text recognition, and ours should run in the browser rather than on a server, otherwise the promise that your file never leaves your device would be void. We are working on it. Until then PDF and images honestly say “soon”, instead of us reading nonsense out of the raw bytes.

What does Pro add, and what does that mean for my data?

Accepted Answer

Pro is planned and adds live sync with Google, Apple and Outlook, plus AI detection and text recognition for PDFs and images. Now the honest part: sync means your events end up at your calendar provider, so at Google, Apple or Microsoft. There is simply nothing to sync otherwise. They still do not land in a database of ours: we only handle your account, the billing and the access keys you give us. We say that here, not in the small print. You decide whether the convenience is worth it. Free stays as local as it is today.
